One of the Best horror games I've played. 10/10. Awesome horror game.... Atmosfear (pun intended) so thick you could cut through with a knife :-)If you like good horror it´s a must have !!!!. I felt strangely patriotic when I found out the dev was from Australia! In short, this is a great indie horror game, with a few minor flaws. The graphics, atmosphere, music and sense of place are all brilliant, but it was the attention to detail that really blew me away. For example, you can pick up and read pretty much every book and VHS case in the house. If you turn on the TV, there's a full, live-acted community television cooking show for you to watch, and it's hilariously bad in all the right ways. And it's worth checking the TV again before you leave the house for the final time, too. When you're not watching Massimo's Kitchen, the game gives some solid nods to its inspirations (P.T., Layers Of Fear, etc.), but never feels derivitive. The stealth sections were tense without ever feeling cheap, and I never felt stuck on where to head next - despite a fair ammount of freedom in exploring the environments.I only really had two gripes: the facial animations on the NPCs weren't great. One reviewer said the wife was scarier in her non-dead state, and there's some truth to that. The other issue was with gameplay mechanics. At one point, I became posessed, and didn't even realise it had happened. The game only explained this to me after I had already died, which felt kinda cheap. How am I meant to know I can exorcise myself?Still, for a one man project, and a first one at that, this is absolutely worth checking out. Looking forward to see what the dev goes onto achieve next! 11/10, would cook with Massimo again.. The game barely worked. It had promise with the atmosphere but it doesn't run. The FPS was at 30 on low graphics but only sometimes. It dropped to 9 FPS after a few minutes of playing even after a restart and it was unplayable. Definitely not worth the price for how poorly it runs. I couldn't even get to the first save point. I uninstalled and asked for a refund.. This game is prety well made with great ambiene and no cheap jumpscares so far. Even though it may not seem like it but I did feel a sense of something was folloing me throughout the house which made me think there would be some jumpscare. This game does do the dread feeling that someone is going to scare you. Gameplay is fine and smooth just odd that it defaults inverted y axis for me but nothing too bad. it is a bit expensive for the horror house experience but there could be more too itAs always you can judge for yourself https://youtu.be/0DBVuuH5HIA Infliction out now!: Hi all!I’m excited to announce that Infliction is out now!Get yourself in a spooky mood by watching the new Infliction launch trailer before playing, now listed on the store page or online here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNKEXWzIGNgThank you so much for your support! Triggered on credits rolling Added gamepad rumble to some impacts and kills Made a few objects interactable that weren’t before Added a new clue to a difficult part of the game Added new sound effects including UI sounds Wind now affects the trees in the woods Added two new ‘scare’ moments that can occur at random Added some rogue shadows Four profile images added to Steam Made accommodations in UI for the addition of more languagesFixes: Fixed an issue where the phone would ring to offer a clue but would play another audio file instead of the clue Fixed an issue in the menus where buttons highlight incorrectly Fixed an issue where gamepad selection in menus didn’t show until selection took place Fixed an issue where clipping would occur when crouching in front of a vent Fixed a bug where hugging a wall and hiding under a table could cause the player to clip through that wall Fixed a bug where instructions would not show correctly when reading books Fixed a bug where sliding a box would trigger an unintended event Fixed instances where decal textures were stretching over geometry causing an ugly stretch effect Fixed an instance where an ambient sound would suddenly cut off Fixed a few instances where crouching could cause clipping with some objects due to the size of their collision box Fixed an issue where on occasion, loading screen text wouldn’t show until the load was finished Fixed an instance where objective text wouldn’t display correctly after death in one particular part of the game Fixed instances where examined object was too close to the camera Fixed instances where the flashlight was too weak when examining some objects Fixed an issue where tutorial text would overlap with subtitle text in very specific instances Fixed an instance where incorrect subtitles were shown Fixed a few minor lighting discrepancies where meshes were incorrectly lit Fixed an issue where picking up a flashlight during a sequence could cause the game to become stuck Fixed a clipping issue with shower curtains being affected by wind Fixed a bug where you could un-pause the game while watching a tutorial causing the pause menu to close while the tutorial screen stayed openOptimisation Limited the number of active lights in some levels for a small performance gain Removed some assets from memory when they’re no longer going to be used in some areas of the game resulting in a minor performance increase Lowest post processing option (medium) now disables dynamic depth of field. This option can see a performance gain on older PCs in certain areas of the game Lowest post processing option (medium) now disables effects in scenes with heavy post processing. This results in better performance on older PCs in certain areas of the game Reduced the amount of texture memory needed overall. This will help users with less video memory to maintain fidelityChanges Reduced font size on text overlay/plain text as some text would get cut off if the string was too long A key objective will now flash where it didn’t before A couple of key moments have been retimed Removed and replaced an ambient track that was causing issues with the YouTube content ID system Fixed a few typos Updated discrepancies with a couple of in game documents Updated end credits Cleaned up gamepad UI button images Radios will not begin their broadcast until the player is within earshotThank you so much for your continued support. Development update: Although I have not yet announced a release date, I did put a tentative date of Q1 2018 on both my web page and the steam page. I was on track to meet this deadline but something major changed in the scope of the game. The demo is live, and there's a freaky new trailer!: Hi everyone, and thanks for your support of this independent game project. Community support and word of mouth are incredibly important for indie projects like this, so thanks so much for your enthusiasm and encouragement.I have a few things to announce in this update, so let's jump into it!First up, the demo is live now! This is a stand-alone experience that you can play through in 10-20 minutes to get a first-hand taste of how the finished game will play. It's spoiler-free, too: I made the demo to sample the gameplay, not spoil the story!Second, I've made a disturbing new trailer. You can see it here on the Steam page, but I've also uploaded it to YouTube: {LINK REMOVED}https://bit.ly/InflictionTrailer If you could watch it, give it a thumbs-up, and share it with your horror-loving friends, that would be great.I've also launched a Kickstarter to help get the game looking amazing for its Halloween release. If you've enjoyed the demo and the trailer, it would be awesome if you could go and back it.Thanks again for your support! I've worked on this game on my own for two years, so it's great to finally be showing it to the world, even if it's only a demo and a trailer so far. In four months, you'll be able to play the whole thing!- Clinton
